The African Publishers
Network is a Pan-African body that exists to promote the
development of a strong indigenous publishing industry in
Africa. It does this through programmes that strengthen
national publishers associations such as KPA. KPA is a member
of APNET and has had a fruitful relationship with it for many
years. |

IPA |
|
|
The International Publishers
Association brings together publishers' associations from all
over the world. Its mandate is to address issues that affect
publishers internationally, and to defend the freedom to
publish. KPA is a member of IPA. |

KBSA |
|
|
|
The Kenya Booksellers and Stationers
Association brings together sellers of books form all over the
country. Its aim is to further the interests of the book
trade. KPA works closely with KBSA to ensure that the book
trade operates in an efficient and ethical manner so as to
ensure that its members' products (books) reach their
end-users |

KIE |
|
|
|
Kenya Institute of Education is the body
under the Ministry of Education charged with the
responsibility of developing curricula and vetting books to be
used in public schools to ensure that they conform to these
curricula and to technical specifications set by the
Government. KPA serves as a link between publishers who
develop the books and KIE, and works closely with KIE in the
process of developing the submission procedures for the books
and other teaching and learning materials, and on related
matters. |

KOPIKEN |

|
Kopiken is Kenya's Reproduction Rights
Organization. Is objective is to license the reproduction
(mainly by way of photocopying) of copyright protected works
in Kenya and to collect fees for the same on behalf of
rightsholders. The mandate to do this is given by its members
who are rightsholder associations and include KPA. |

MOEST |

The Ministry of Education is
the Government body in charge of education at all levels in
the country. KPA collaborates with the Ministry in matters
that have to do with the provision of teaching and learning
materials to schools. This includes developing policies in
this area. |

NBDCK |
|
|
|
The National Book Development
Council of Kenya exists to encourage the development of a
strong book industry and an entrenched reading culture in
Kenya. KPA is a member of NBDC-K and works closely with it to
achieve its objectives, which mirror those of KPA. |
